Jester Hex
Privacy policy
Last updated 12 September 2026
Jester Hex is published by JesterMedia. This policy explains what the game does and does not collect. It covers the iPhone and iPad app; visits to this website are covered separately below.
The short version: there is no account and no login. Your puzzle progress never leaves your device. The game does show ads and can report anonymous gameplay analytics, and both are described in full below. You can turn analytics off in Settings at any time.
Information on your device
Your completed levels, the board you are part-way through, power-up counts, daily and weekly streaks, and your sound, vibration, and analytics preferences are written to storage on your device. JesterMedia cannot read this data, it is not uploaded to us, and there is no cloud sync or account-based restore. Deleting the app deletes it.
The game does not ask for your name, email address, contacts, photos, location, or microphone.
Gameplay analytics
Jester Hex uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the game is played in aggregate — which levels people finish or abandon, which power-ups get used, whether a reward video was offered and what happened, and when the tutorial is completed. Events carry the level number, chapter, game mode, and move count. They do not carry your name, your email address, or the contents of your board.
Analytics is on by default and can be switched off with Share Anonymous Analytics in Settings. Turning it off stops collection and clears the analytics identifier held on the device. Collection is also held off entirely until you have made an advertising consent choice, and is disabled in internal test builds.
Advertising and consent
The game is free and carries advertising: a banner on the home screen, an occasional full-screen break between levels, and optional reward videos you choose to watch in exchange for a power-up. Ads are served by Google AdMob, which also mediates demand from Liftoff Monetize and Unity Ads. These partners may process a device advertising identifier, coarse device and network information, and ad interaction events in order to select and measure ads.
Before any ad loads, the game runs Google's User Messaging Platform consent flow. Where the GDPR or a similar law applies, your choice there determines whether personalised ads may be shown, and that choice is passed on to the mediation partners. On iOS the game also presents Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt; declining it means the advertising identifier is not available for tracking, and the game continues to work normally with less relevant ads.
You can reopen your ad choices from Ad Privacy Choices in Settings whenever the consent service offers them, and you can change the App Tracking Transparency setting at any time in the iOS Settings app under Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Details of each partner's own handling are published at Google Privacy & Terms, Liftoff, and Unity.
Support messages
If you email support, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to put in the message — typically a device model, an app version, and a level number. We use it to answer you and to fix the problem, and we do not use it for marketing. Please do not send anything sensitive.
Service providers
JesterMedia uses Google (Firebase and AdMob) for analytics and advertising, and Liftoff Monetize and Unity Ads as mediated advertising partners. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone else for their own marketing.
Retention and international processing
Progress stays on your device until you delete it or remove the app. Analytics and advertising data are retained by those providers under their own published policies and may be processed on servers outside your country, including in the United States. Support email is kept only as long as it takes to resolve the matter.
Your choices and requests
- Turn analytics off — Settings → Share Anonymous Analytics.
- Change ad consent — Settings → Ad Privacy Choices, where offered.
- Stop ad tracking — iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Reset your advertising identifier — iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, or by turning off Allow Apps to Request to Track.
- Delete everything the game holds — delete the app from your device.
To ask a question about your data, email support@jestermedia.app with “Jester Hex Privacy” in the subject. Because the game holds no account, we may not be able to identify data as yours beyond what is on your own device.
Children's privacy
Jester Hex is not directed to children under 13, and JesterMedia does not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information, email us and we will remove it.
Website visits
This website is separate from the app. Pages here may load Google services, and where they do, the site's own privacy controls apply. This page and the rest of the Jester Hex section load no advertising.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of the page, and note anything significant on the Jester Hex product page.
