The short version: Your photos are converted into pixel puzzles on your device and never uploaded. Signing in is optional and only needed for cloud backup and PixelMunity. The free version shows ads; PixelClarity Premium removes them. We never sell your data.
JesterMedia LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates PixelClarity, an iOS and iPadOS color-by-number pixel art app. This Privacy Policy explains what data the app collects, how it is used, and your rights regarding that data.
PixelClarity can turn a photo from your photo library or camera into a pixel puzzle. This conversion happens entirely on your device. Your original photo is never uploaded to us or to any third party. The app requests photo library and camera permission only when you choose to create a puzzle from an image, and it only reads the specific image you select.
PixelClarity can be used without an account. If you choose to enable cloud backup or post to PixelMunity, you sign in with Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google through Firebase Authentication (Google LLC). We receive your name and email address as provided by that sign-in method, plus an anonymous Firebase user ID. Your display name is also used as your public artist name in PixelMunity.
When you back up, the following is stored in Firebase Firestore under your private account: your puzzle list, coloring progress, completion history, achievements, streak data, and Pixel Ticket balance.
If you choose to share a puzzle to PixelMunity, the processed pixel puzzle, the title and tags you type, and your public artist name become visible to other users. Only the processed pixel grid is uploaded โ never the original photo. We also store your likes, follows, blocks, and reports so the feed works correctly. You can delete your uploads, and deleting your account removes them all.
The free version of PixelClarity displays ads via Google AdMob, including optional rewarded ads you can watch to earn Pixel Tickets. AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) for ad personalization and frequency capping, and only if you allow tracking when iOS asks. Declining limits ad personalization but does not affect app functionality. PixelClarity Premium subscribers see no ads and are not subject to ad identifier collection.
Preferences such as painting settings, sound, and whether you've seen onboarding are stored locally on your device using standard iOS storage. They are not transmitted to us.

We do not use your data for profiling, resale, or any purpose outside core app functionality.
Puzzles shared to PixelMunity are automatically screened for adult, violent, and other objectionable imagery before appearing in the feed. Every post can also be reported by any user, and any user can block another artist to hide all of their content permanently. Reported content is reviewed and removed within 24 hours where it violates our rules, and the accounts responsible are banned. See the PixelMunity Terms for full details.
All data in transit is encrypted via TLS. Firestore data is encrypted at rest. Your backup and profile data are access-controlled at the database rules level: only your own authenticated user ID can read or write your private data. Community posts are readable by signed-in users, but only their author can edit or delete them.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your data with advertisers beyond the identifiers AdMob uses for ad delivery in the free tier, and only where you have granted tracking permission. We share data with Google (Firebase) only as necessary to operate the service.
You can delete your account and everything stored under it directly in the app: Profile โ Cloud Backup โ Delete Account. This permanently removes your account, cloud backup, PixelMunity uploads, follows, blocks, public profile, and reserved artist name. Puzzles already saved on your device stay on your device. You will be asked to sign in once more to confirm it's you. If you cannot access the app, email support@jestermedia.app and we will process the deletion within 30 days.
PixelClarity is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us at support@jestermedia.app and we will delete it promptly.
Residents of California (CCPA) and Virginia (VCDPA) may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold. To exercise these rights, contact support@jestermedia.app. We will respond within 45 days.
We may update this policy periodically. We will post updates here and revise the "Last Updated" date. Continued use of PixelClarity after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
