DinnerClarity Privacy Policy
DinnerClarity · JesterMedia LLC
The short version: DinnerClarity works without an account. Your kitchen data stays on your device unless you choose cloud backup or household sharing. The free version uses analytics and advertising services; DinnerClarity+ removes ads.
This Privacy Policy explains how JesterMedia LLC ("JesterMedia," "we," "us") handles information when you use DinnerClarity (the "App").
1. Information Stored on Your Device
DinnerClarity stores your household setup, meal plans, pantry inventory and history, grocery-list state, favorites, meal feedback, and family recipes locally on your device. This information is used to operate the App and personalize plans. It is not sent to us unless you enable optional backup or sharing, or include it in a support message.
2. Optional Account, Backup, and Household Sharing
You may use the App without an account. If you choose backup or sharing, you may sign in with Apple, Google, or an email address and password. Firebase Authentication processes the credentials needed to sign you in. We receive an account identifier and, where provided by the sign-in method, your email address.
When backup or sharing is enabled, the following may be stored in Google Firebase services and linked to your account identifier: household settings, meal plans, pantry data, ratings and meal feedback, favorites, and family recipes. This data is used only to restore your kitchen or keep an invited household device in sync.
3. Analytics
We use Google Firebase Analytics to understand whether core features work and how the App is used. Analytics may collect product-interaction data, device identifiers, app version, device and operating-system information, approximate region, and diagnostics.
Our custom analytics events use counts and general outcomes, such as how many days were planned or whether a grocery list was shared. We do not intentionally send recipe names you type, pantry item names, allergen selections, email addresses, or household invite codes in custom analytics events.
4. Advertising and Tracking
The free version uses Google AdMob to show banner, interstitial, and optional rewarded ads. Google and its advertising partners may process device identifiers, product interactions, approximate location derived from your IP address, and advertising information to deliver, measure, prevent fraud in, and where permitted personalize ads.
On iOS, the App asks for permission before allowing tracking across other companies' apps and websites. You can deny this request or change your choice in iOS Settings. Contextual or non-personalized ads may still appear. DinnerClarity+ removes ads while the subscription is active.
5. Purchases
Apple processes DinnerClarity+ purchases and subscriptions. We do not receive your full payment-card details. We receive StoreKit purchase status, product, entitlement, renewal, and expiration information needed to unlock and maintain Plus features.
6. Catalog and Network Requests
The App includes a bundled recipe catalog and may request newer or corrected recipe and ingredient information from Firebase. Recipe images may be loaded from Google-hosted storage. These requests can expose standard network information, including IP address and device/browser connection details, to the service provider.
7. Information You Send to Support
If you contact us, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your email address, message, screenshots, and device details. We use it to respond, investigate issues, protect the service, and keep necessary support records.
8. Service Providers
We use service providers only for operating and supporting DinnerClarity:
- Google Firebase — authentication, optional cloud storage and synchronization, catalog updates, analytics, and diagnostics.
- Google AdMob — advertising, measurement, and fraud prevention in the free version.
- Google Sign-In — optional account authentication.
- Apple — Sign in with Apple, App Store distribution, purchases, subscriptions, and related transaction records.
These providers process information under their own privacy terms and may process it in the United States or other countries.
9. Retention and Deletion
Local data remains until you delete it in the App or remove the App, subject to device backups controlled by you or Apple. Optional cloud data remains while backup or sharing is enabled and for a reasonable period needed for restoration, security, dispute resolution, and legal compliance.
To request deletion of your DinnerClarity account and associated cloud data, email support@jestermedia.app from the address used for the account. We may verify the request before deletion. Some limited transaction, security, or legal records may be retained where required.
10. Your Choices
- Use DinnerClarity without creating an account.
- Turn off backup or sharing and sign out in the App.
- Control tracking permission in iOS Settings.
- Manage or cancel DinnerClarity+ through your Apple account.

11. Children
DinnerClarity is intended for general household use and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can delete it.
12. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including authenticated access to optional cloud data. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
13. Changes
We may update this policy as DinnerClarity or applicable requirements change. We will post the revised policy here and update the date above.
