TipClarity Privacy Policy
JesterMedia
Short version: TipClarity uses the dining details you manually enter to calculate totals, tips, budgets, favorites, and insights. We do not connect to your bank, sell your dining history, or use the meals you enter to target advertising.
Information We Collect
TipClarity may collect your email address, Apple sign-in identifier, or Google sign-in identifier through Firebase Authentication. It stores restaurant names, bill amounts, tip percentages, number of people, dining categories, meal dates, notes, monthly dining budget, appearance choice, reminder choice, and related settings that you enter. Signed-in dining data is backed up with Firebase Firestore.
How We Use Information
- To calculate meal totals, tips, per-person amounts, monthly summaries, and budget projections.
- To create dining insights, restaurant rankings, category summaries, and annual reports.
- To sign you in and securely sync your TipClarity state across devices.
- To schedule a weekly reminder if you choose to enable notifications.
- To provide purchases and remove or modify advertising if premium features are offered.
Advertising
The free version may show ads through Google AdMob and its mediation partners: ironSource/LevelPlay, Liftoff Monetize (Vungle), and Unity Ad Quality. These providers may process device advertising identifiers, product interactions, advertising data, and approximate location derived from your IP address to deliver, measure, prevent fraud in, and personalize ads where permitted. Dining details you enter are not sent to advertising providers. Debug and testing versions use Google test ads.
Advertising identifiers are shared with the ad partners above to build cross-app and cross-site profiles; Apple's App Tracking Transparency permission and your device advertising settings control whether this tracking is allowed.
Analytics and Diagnostics
TipClarity uses Firebase Analytics to measure app usage and product interactions. When you are signed in, the app sets a Firebase User ID, so these analytics events are linked to your account. We do not intentionally send restaurant names, bill amounts, tip percentages, dining notes, or budgets as custom analytics parameters.
The Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect diagnostics and crash data for ad delivery, measurement, fraud prevention, and reliability. TipClarity does not include Firebase Crashlytics.
Bank Connections
TipClarity does not request, collect, or store bank credentials or payment card numbers. All dining data is manually entered by you.
Third-Party Services
- Firebase Authentication and Firestore by Google for profiles and cloud backup.
- Firebase Analytics by Google for product-interaction analytics linked to a Firebase User ID when signed in.
- Google AdMob, ironSource/LevelPlay, Liftoff Monetize (Vungle), and Unity Ad Quality for free-tier advertising, mediation, measurement, personalization where permitted, fraud prevention, and diagnostics.
- Apple App Store and Google Play for purchases and subscription billing where offered.
- Apple and Android notification services for optional device reminders.
Data Deletion
You can delete individual meals or use Delete All Meals in Settings. You can also choose Delete Profile to remove your Firebase Authentication profile, delete the current Firestore backup when available, and clear local TipClarity data. You may contact support@jestermedia.app for help.
Your Privacy Choices
If you are in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, Switzerland, or another region where consent is required, Google's User Messaging Platform presents a consent prompt before eligible advertising storage or personalization. You can change your choice by reopening Privacy Options in the app's Settings and can separately change tracking permission in iOS Settings or advertising choices in your device settings.
Depending on where you live, including under the CCPA/CPRA and VCDPA, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information, and to opt out of targeted advertising or the sale or sharing of personal information. To opt out of sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising, deny tracking, reset or limit the device advertising identifier, use the app's Privacy Options, or email support@jestermedia.app. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.
Children's Privacy
TipClarity is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Website visits, retention, and additional choices
This notice describes the app. Website hosting and optional website analytics are described in the JesterMedia website privacy notice. Website choices do not change app settings. Data retention depends on the feature, account status, your deletion requests, provider processing, and necessary security, transaction, or legal records. You may contact us to ask about retention, exercise applicable access, correction, deletion or advertising opt-out rights, or appeal our response. Material changes will be notified and consent requested where required; this notice does not retroactively authorize a new data use.
